0.3-5.0 MPa High-Pressure Solenoid Valve: KL523 Selection Guide

KL523 high-pressure solenoid valve: 1/4-1/2 in models hold 0.3-5.0 MPa, 3/4-1 in hold 0.3-3.5 MPa. Piston design, IP65 coil, port and coil selection.

A 0.3-5.0 MPa line calls for a piston-type solenoid valve, because the piston uses line pressure to load the seal instead of relying on a spring alone. The Kailing KL523 series covers this band in five port sizes: KL5231008 to KL5231015 hold 0.3-5.0 MPa, while KL5231020 and KL5231025 hold 0.3-3.5 MPa. Match port, media and coil voltage before ordering.

Why does the 0.3-5.0 MPa band suit a piston-type valve?

Between 3 bar and 50 bar the seat load decides whether a valve opens and reseals. A piston design keeps the moving parts in a machined bore, so line pressure helps hold the seal and the spring carries less load. Piston valves are therefore common on water, gas and liquefied gas lines in this band. Check the minimum pressure as well as the maximum: the KL523 band starts at 0.3 MPa, so a line running near zero pressure needs a different series.

What pressure does each KL523 model hold?

Model Port Working pressure --- --- --- KL5231008 1/4 in 0.3-5.0 MPa KL5231010 3/8 in 0.3-5.0 MPa KL5231015 1/2 in 0.3-5.0 MPa KL5231020 3/4 in 0.3-3.5 MPa KL5231025 1 in 0.3-3.5 MPa The pressure falls in two steps. The three smaller models hold 0.3-5.0 MPa. The 3/4 in and 1 in models hold 0.3-3.5 MPa, because a larger bore needs a larger piston area. Height and face-to-face also step up between the two groups. Confirm the drawing revision before a production quotation.

Which media, seal and thread standard apply?

The catalog lists water, gas, acetylene, liquefied gas and other fluid media with a kinematic viscosity up to 1 mm2/s, at a medium temperature up to 180 C. Acetylene and liquefied gas raise two practical questions: the seal material, and the thread standard. Threads are offered as G, ZG or NPT, so state the standard of the mating pipework and check it against ISO 228-1 for G threads or ASME B1.20.1 for NPT. For a corrosive liquid, send the medium name and concentration with the enquiry.

Which coil voltage and protection should be specified?

Coil options are AC 24 V, 36 V, 110 V, 220 V and 380 V at 50 or 60 Hz, and DC 12 V or 24 V. Power is listed as AC 8VA and DC 14W. The coil is a fully encapsulated thermoset plastic type with IP65 protection to IEC 60529, which suits washdown and dusty plant rooms. Decide from the control voltage at the panel and the duty cycle. For a hazardous area, the ordering code lists an explosion-proof coil variant marked Z or ZT6 (T4/T6). Ask for the declaration that matches your area classification.

Is the KL523 available as a custom or OEM build?

The ordering code is built from the port code, the coil variant, the voltage and the thread standard. Within that code a buyer can fix the port, thread, coil voltage and coil type, and can ask for the brand marking and packing that a private-label program needs. Anything outside the code, such as a different body material or a special seal, needs review against the medium and the pressure. Send the drawing, the application details and the annual quantity so the factory can confirm what the series supports.

Need the KL523 drawing for your line?

Send the medium, temperature, working pressure range, port size, thread standard, coil voltage, quantity and delivery date. Include the pipe size and a photo of the existing valve for a replacement enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • FAQ What pressure can a KL523 high-pressure solenoid valve hold?
Models KL5231008, KL5231010 and KL5231015 hold 0.3-5.0 MPa, while KL5231020 and KL5231025 hold 0.3-3.5 MPa. The lower limit matters as much as the upper one.
  • FAQ Can a 5.0 MPa valve be used on a 0.2 MPa line?
Not as a standard selection. The KL523 range starts at 0.3 MPa, so a line running below that needs a valve chosen for the lower pressure.
  • FAQ Which port size fits a 1/2 in pipe?
KL5231015 has a 1/2 in port and holds 0.3-5.0 MPa. State the thread standard, G, ZG or NPT, when ordering.
  • FAQ Is the coil suitable for washdown or outdoor duty?
The coil is a fully encapsulated thermoset plastic type with IP65 protection to IEC 60529. Confirm the ambient temperature and the connector form.
  • FAQ Can the KL523 be supplied for a hazardous area?
The ordering code lists an explosion-proof coil variant marked Z or ZT6. Send the area classification and the marking so the matching declaration can be checked.
